The rational preparation of the diet, so that the content of sodium chloride in the diet in the 0.3 to 0.4%, can prevent the occurrence of the disease. However, if the diet is provided with a feed with a high salt content, such as salted fish meal, the amount of sodium chloride added should be calculated to prevent repeated additions, which in turn leads to salt poisoning (lethal dose 4 g/kg body weight).
